Dallas Semiconductor DS1620
The DS1620 Is a digital thermometer and thermostat all in a 8 pin PDIP or SOIC package. It can measure temperature over a -55°C to +125°C in 0.5 deg C increments. The accuracy over the full temperature range is 2.0°C or 0.5°C over a temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. For Fahrenheit temperature readings you would have to convert from °C or use a lookup table.
The DS1620 uses a 3 wire interface and outputs a 9 bit temperature readings. For interfacing the DS1620 to SPI please take a look at Dallas application note 85 for more information. The 3 wire interface has three signals. These are RST (reset), CLK (clock) and DQ (data) signal.
For more detailed information on the the 3-wire interface and thermostat functions then please check the datasheet as It probably would explain in much greater detail the functions of th DS1620 better than me.
